3i Group plc (“3i”) has announced that Evernex, a company that provides data centre maintenance services, has acquired Empowered and OrderWork, two sister companies based in the UK, and both providing large-scale IT infrastructure deployment services.
3i is making the statement because it is a British investment company that specialises in private equity, infrastructure and investment management, and it is investing in these businesses. 3i invests in buying stakes in growing businesses and helping them expand. Rather than manufacturing products or selling services itself, 3i provides capital and strategic support to businesses, helping them grow.
Evernex, Empowered and OrderWork
Evernex reported a consolidated turnover of €207 million in 2023 in a publicly available corporate social responsibility report.
The group of three companies enables IT partners including systems integrators, Telecoms service providers and MSPs to deliver complex projects, professional services, and managed support services, such as data centre migrations, network modernisation, Wi-Fi and LAN refreshes or SD-WAN rollouts.
The group operates the OrderWork platform, a proprietary field service management platform which orchestrates delivery of Professional services projects.

The acquisition is the tenth since 3i’s investment in Evernex in October 2019. It strengthens Evernex’s position across the IT infrastructure lifecycle, adding upstream deployment capabilities across new infrastructure rollouts and end-of-life services.
