MSI showcased its latest innovation in handheld gaming at COMPUTEX 2026 last month, with the Claw 8 EX AI+, powered by Intel® Arc™ G3 Extreme processors. The Claw 8 EX AI+ features an 8-inch 120Hz VRR display for fluid, tear-free visuals, with upgraded ergonomic grips, and a highly responsive D-pad. The handheld includes a high-end linear motor for refined, tactile haptic feedback.

The Claw 8 EX AI+ is the world’s first handheld gaming device powered by Intel® Arc™ G3 Extreme processors, the first Intel platform specifically optimised for handheld gaming. It delivers a significant leap in graphics performance, enabling exceptional AAA gaming on handheld devices while maintaining strong power efficiency for extended play sessions.
AAA Gaming Performance
AAA gaming performance refers to the ability of the hardware to run the latest video games at high settings with smooth frame rates and advanced graphics.
AAA (Triple-A) games are blockbuster titles developed by major studios with large budgets, such as Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed, Grand Theft Auto, and Forza Horizon.
MSI and gaming vendors may use the words “Next-generation AAA”, which refers to the latest games that use the latest technologies, such as ray tracing (a graphics rendering technology that makes lighting in video games look much more realistic by simulating how light behaves in the real world), AI upscaling (a technology that uses artificial intelligence to make games look like they are running at a higher resolution without requiring the computer to render every pixel), and highly detailed graphics.
Thus, the latest AAA games run smoothly, support high resolutions (1440p or 4K), tend to deliver high frame rates (60fps, 120fps or more), and enable advanced visual features such as ray tracing and AI-powered graphics enhancements.

Built on the latest Intel Xe graphics architecture and enhanced by XeSS 3 with Multi-Frame Generation (MFG), the device enables high frame-rate gaming with improved visual smoothness and responsiveness.
The redesigned chassis incorporates ergonomic grips for enhanced comfort during long sessions, while Hall-effect triggers and sticks, along with refined bumpers and a responsive D-pad, provide greater precision and control for a more immersive gaming experience.
The device introduces a new high-end linear motor, offering faster response times, more refined haptic feedback that simulates tactile textures, and improved power efficiency.
On the software side, the Claw 8 EX AI+ brings compatibility with intuitive Xbox Mode, enabling quick game launches and seamless resume. A redesigned Quick Settings also lets users easily adjust features such as Multi-Frame Generation and in-game frame control to optimise performance.
