Midwich, a specialist AV distributor to the trade market, has signed a distribution deal with the world’s leader in commercial and industrial unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, DJI Enterprise.
From today (8 October 2024), the full range of enterprise drone solutions, including the recently released DJI Dock 2, is available through Midwich in the UK and Ireland and is designed to help businesses and organisations with accurate information for timely decision-making, cost savings through reduced operational costs, enhanced personnel safety, and quicker access to remote assets.
Key use cases include:
- Public safety: Offering enhanced and essential aerial visuals and thermal information to aid timely and tactical responses for emergency services.
- Geospatial: Providing highly accurate digital deliverables (maps, models, and inspections) for managers, surveyors, and engineers, improving operations throughout the project.
- Electricity: Manage electrical grids, plants, and remote assets in real-time as well as monitor construction, conduct inspections, and complete maintenance.
- Oil and gas: Safely inspect and manage equipment and infrastructure with minimal downtown.

According to PxC, by 2030, the commercial drone industry is estimated to contribute £45bn to the UK economy with projected carbon emissions reduced by 2.4 million tonnes and £22bn in net cost savings.
