Farnell leadership team gives back

The Farnell Leadership Team recently took the opportunity to give back to the local community. The team volunteered at St. Gemma’s Hospice, in Leeds.

Rebeca Obregon, president of global Farnell and Avnet Integrated Solutions.

“By volunteering in the communities where we meet each quarter, we’re able to give something back locally while building relationships as a team. Volunteering at St. Gemma’s Hospice gave us the chance to work side by side, support a local charity and live our values in a very real way.”

Working together as a team, the team supported St. Gemma’s retail operation by helping prepare and organise donated stock for distribution across 26 charity shops. Their efforts played an important role in helping the charity process donations efficiently and ensure items were ready for sale, directly supporting the hospice’s ability to raise funds for its care and support programs.

The group carried out a variety of hands‑on tasks, including sorting donated items, tagging and de‑tagging products, folding and organising clothing, packing stock for distribution and preparing garments for display. In addition to volunteering, Farnell made a monetary donation to the organisation.
