Lenovo™ has introduced the next-generation of AI workstations optimised for on-device AI development, inference and creation, including the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7, ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 AMD, ThinkPad P16s i Gen 5, ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 AMD, ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 and the powerhouse desktop ThinkStation P5 Gen 2.

Designed for students, engineers, data scientists and everyone in between, the new workstations pack unprecedented performance capable of tackling even the most demanding workflows, including CAD, BIM, data science, AI development and more.

Part of Lenovo’s new Hybrid AI Advantage solutions with NVIDIA, the systems accelerate AI adoption, and thus can improve end user productivity.

On Lenovo’s latest workstation launch, Tom Butler, Vice President, Commercial Portfolio and Product Management, Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group has stated:

Lenovo’s newest workstations with on-device AI enable faster design, inference and model development without requiring cloud connectivity. Across the ThinkPad P Series, dedicated NPUs and next-generation Intel and AMD processors collaborate with NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell GPUs to accelerate AI tasks, shortening the time between input and results.

ThinkPad P14s Gen 7

The lightest AI-ready mobile workstation in the series, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 delivers true workstation performance in a compact and mobile design. Built for professionals needing a protected and truly portable device, the 14-inch ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 delivers a faster and more efficient experience by paring Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with Intel vPro and NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell Generation Laptop GPU or AMD Ryzen™ AI PRO 400 Series processors with up to AMD Radeon™ 890M.

ThinkPad P16s Gen 5

A new generation of mobile workstations designed from the ground up, the 16-inch ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 elevates its performance and AI readiness to new levels for mainstream power users. Powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with Intel vPro or AMD Ryzen ™ AI PRO 400 Series processors with advanced NPU architectures, the workstation can be outfitted with an NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell Generation Laptop GPU for professional-grade visualization and AI-assisted tasks. Ideal for engineers and designers on the move, the ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 punches above its weight at under 1.76kg.

ThinkPad P1 Gen 9

For creative professionals and engineers needing uncompromised performance, the ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 delivers on all fronts with a premium, ultra-thin design concealing an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor with Intel vPro with up to 16 cores, a discrete NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell Generation Laptop GPU and up to 672 total TOPS. An AI developer’s dream capable of handling 3D CAD/BIM on the go, the ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 is the most capable ThinkPad ever and the choice for colour-critical workflows, rendering, high-end visualization and more.

ThinkStation P5 Gen 2

The new definition of mainstream desktop workstation, the ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 leaves no stone unturned to deliver exceptional performance, scalability and reliability. Equipped with Intel Xeon 600 processors for workstations and up to two NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q Workstation Edition GPUs, the ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 is built for compute-heavy tasks, including complex 3D CAD, high-resolution rendering, medical imaging, molecular modeling, and AI model development, making it perfect for VFX artists and AI Developers in addition to data scientists and healthcare/life science professionals.

Lenovo will also support NVIDIA OpenShell, an enterprise-grade AI agent framework focused on security, privacy and scalability, and accelerated by select workstations, including the ThinkStation P5 Gen 2. With NVIDIA OpenShell, Lenovo ThinkStation workstations can host safeguarded and customizable full-featured AI agents that automate complex workflows directly on the systems, bringing AI where needed.

Lenovo ThinkShield Protection

Beyond performance, the latest workstations are protected by Lenovo ThinkShield, a comprehensive suite of hardware-based and firmware-level security features, including BIOS-level protections, secured wipe, and integrated privacy controls to help safeguard sensitive data and ensure enterprise-grade security.

The ThinkPad mobile workstations incorporate recycled materials in their chassis 8, are EPEAT® Gold6, ENERGY STAR® 9.0, TCO Certified 10.0 and MIL-STD-810H certified (tested under certain conditions), and showcase new improved serviceability and future-ready designs, including more customer replaceable units, expandable memory and storage.

The world’s first 1,000Wh/L Silicon-Anode Battery for notebooks and workstations

Lenovo used the opportunity to showcase a new proof of concept, the world’s first 1,000Wh/L Silicon-Anode Battery for notebooks and workstations, achieving an energy density improvement of more than 10% when compared to previous generations. (battery use will vary according to how devices are used, and these results are through current internal testing).

With a capacity of up to 99.9Whr without a bigger footprint, the ED1000 battery technology will deliver improved battery life and higher performance for future Lenovo laptops. Developed in conjunction with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, this battery should set a new industry standard and opens new possibilities for battery life and form factors in high-performance laptops.

NVIDIA GTC 2026

Lenovo’s latest generation of workstations are on display at NVIDIA GTC 2026, San Jose, California from 16 to 19 March 2026.
