Synology Unveils C2 Surveillance at Computex 2025 for Simplified Cloud Monitoring

At Computex 2025 in Taipei, Synology have unveiled its Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) solution, called C2 Surveillance, accessed via a web portal or mobile app. With a focus on ease-of-use and smart scalability, this service offers non-disruptive cloud monitoring and a setup time of less than 2 minutes for new camera setups.

Accompanied by interactive live demos by product marketing manager Katherine Chiang, Synology announced the brand new S2 Surveillance at Computex 2025 in Taipei this week. This Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) promises to simplify deployment and management of surveillance systems across various industries, especially for multi-site operations.

“Our goal has always been to build a comprehensive surveillance ecosystem that enables seamless integration and management for our customers,” says Josh Lin, Director of Synology’s Surveillance Group. “With the addition of C2 Surveillance, customers now have the flexibility to deploy their surveillance solutions entirely on-premises or in the cloud, depending on their unique requirements.”

A key focus is effortless setup, with C2 offering plug-and-play deployment for ease of use. On the show floor, Chiang showed Synology partners how to set up new devices in under two minutes. To speed up device setup further, C2 will not require device licensing so multiple new devices can be set up seamlessly.

The system is entirely intuitive, offering dashboards that admins can work without training, making it suitable for businesses of any size. For example, after customising a layout of views comprised of different cameras, users can rewind all instances at the same time to monitor events from different angles instantaneously.

Multi-site scalability is also simplified as the system integrates directly with Windows Active Directory, meaning easy delegation of specific permissions across teams and locations. Furthermore, bandwidth consumption can be reduced by up to 50% without affecting the video quality for sites with connectivity issues.

The entire system is designed with a continuity-first architecture. C2 Surveillance promises uninterrupted recording even in the event of network disruptions, since all footage is edge recorded to microSD cards during failover offline mode, with the option to also backup to C2 Cloud.

On theme with the AI Next focus of Computex, this system also includes DVA analytics to find examples of specific instances in the recorded feeds without users manually needing to scroll through hours of footage. The system now also has AI-powered semantic video search built with open source large language models, so users can search for these instances in natural human language, and be suggested occurrences to look out for.

This system will be available later in 2025. For more information, please monitor the Synology website or keep an eye on News in the Channel newsletters.
