International Women’s Day is on Saturday, 8 March 2025. News in the Channel pays homage to all women, especially those in the Technology sector, and we use the opportunity to highlight four women in the IT and Telecommunications category that are at the top of their game. All four women are CEOs (Chief Executive Officers), heading up large global enterprises.

Christel Heydemann, CEO Orange

Christel Heydemann is a French businesswoman and the chief executive officer of the French telecommunications company Orange S.A. since 4 April 2022. She is an engineer and earned her bachelor’s degree in engineering from École nationale des ponts et chaussées in 1999.

Margherita Della Valle, CEO Vodafone

Margherita Della Valle is an Italian businesswoman who has been the chief executive officer of Vodafone since January 2023. Della Valle was elected Chairman of 100 Group, the association that brings together FTSE 100 CFOs.

Allison Kirkby, CEO BT Group

Allison Kirkby is a British businesswoman who has been the chief executive of BT Group since February 2024. She had earlier led the Swedish telecoms companies Tele2 and Telia, and the Danish company TDC

Lisa T. Su, CEO AMD (Advanced Micro Devices)

Lisa Tzwu-Fang Su is an American billionaire business executive, computer scientist, and electrical engineer who is the president, chief executive officer, and chair of the semiconductor company Advanced Micro Devices. Su was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States as a child.
