BURLINGAME, Calif. — June 11, 2025 — Kensington, a worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business, and home office professionals, today announced that a range of its input products, including select mice, keyboards, and trackballs, have achieved Recycled Content Certification from SCS Global Services—a trusted third-party certifier with more than 40 years of leadership in environmental and social responsibility standards.
SCS Global Services is a pioneer in third-party sustainability certification, verification, and auditing. Its Recycled Content Certification independently verifies the percentage of a product that is made from recycled material, helping to support circular economy goals and reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing. Achieving this certification reflects Kensington’s continued commitment to innovation through sustainable product development and responsible business practices.
Kensington’s newly certified products span several popular input categories:
- Trackballs: Pro Fit™ Ergo TB450/TB550 EQ Trackballs (K72194, K72196)

These certifications were awarded following a rigorous third-party audit that reviewed chain-of-custody procedures, mass-balance calculations, and product manufacturing data to confirm conformance to the SCS Recycled Content Standard Version 8.0. This version includes updated criteria such as a minimum of 5% recycled content for eligibility, allowance for chemically recycled materials, and recognition of additional global certification schemes like ISCC, FSC, and the Textile Exchange Recycled Claim Standard.
“We’re proud to partner with SCS Global Services to validate our ongoing efforts to create more products using recycled plastic content,” said Lisa Schuiteboer-Shuler, Global Marketing Manager at Kensington. “This third-party certification is more than a label—it’s a promise to our customers and partners that Kensington is actively trying to reduce our environmental impact while delivering the same high standard of performance and design professionals rely on.”
