D-Link has launched the DXS-3130 Series 10G Layer 3 Stackable Aggregation Managed Switches, a next-gen switch family engineered for high-performance enterprise, campus, and high-rise community building deployments, designed for organisations requiring high-throughput aggregation and core switching. With Layer 3 capabilities, robust hardware design, and intelligent software features, the DXS-3130 Series enables businesses to build scalable, resilient, and secure network infrastructures.
The DXS-3130 Series includes two models:
- DXS-3130-28 and
- DXS-3130-28P (supports PoE, providing up to 60 W of power per port)
Both models offer twenty-four 10G ports and four 10G/25G SFP28 ports. With a switching capacity of up to 680 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 506 Mpbs, the switches provide ultra-fast data transfer and low latency, ideal for bandwidth-intensive environments like data centers, large enterprises, and service provider networks.
PoE support shortens deployment time and reduces the cost of electrical installation by powering devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, and access points directly over Ethernet.
Layer 3 Routing Features, supporting PBR
The DXS-3130 Series enhances enterprise networking with advanced Layer 3 features, including dynamic IPv4/IPv6 routing (OSPFv2/v3, RIPv1/v2/ng) and VRRP for high availability. It supports Policy-Based Routing (PBR), ECMP for traffic load balancing. Multicast routing features like PIM, IGMP, and MLD ensure efficient video and IPTV delivery across large networks.
High Availability and Scalability
The DXS-3130 Series supports physical stacking of up to nine units using dedicated stacking ports or SFP+ interfaces and allows for unified management and high port density. The switches feature redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and fans for continuous operation and failover protection. Additionally, Graceful Restart minimises network downtime during routing reconvergence.
Enterprise-Grade Security and Management
The DXS-3130 Series is equipped with robust security features to safeguard network integrity and control access. It includes Access Control Lists (ACLs) for precise traffic filtering, along with 802.1X port-based authentication and support for RADIUS and TACACS+ for secure user access. To prevent Layer 2 attacks, the switches offer DHCP snooping, IP source guard, and ARP inspection. Additional features such as MAC-based VLAN, private VLAN, provide further segmentation and control across the network.
Supporting multiple interfaces, including an intuitive web UI, Command Line Interface (CLI), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, and RMON, the switches also feature LLDP and sFlow to provide enhanced network visibility and diagnostics. The switches integrate with D-Link Nuclias Network Controller to enable centralised monitoring and control across the network.
