Ergo CEO now Conal O’Donnell following Presidio Acquisition

Presidio-owned predominantly Irish IT solutions provider Ergo has appointed Conal O’Donnell as their Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Founded in 1993, Ergo’s headquarters are in Dublin, with offices in Cork, Limmerick, Belfast, and further afield in Minnesota, Romania and Auckland.

O’Donnell has held the position of Ergo’s Group Chief Operating Officer since August 2019, and he succeeds Paul McCann, who will step down as CEO at the end of February after leading the business since September 2021.

Conal O’Donnell enthusiastically comments:

“I am delighted to take on the role of CEO at such an important time for Ergo. Having been part of the business for over six years, I have seen first-hand the depth of our expertise, the strength of our culture and the exceptional talent across our teams. I would also like to sincerely thank McCann for his leadership and the significant contribution he has made to Ergo’s growth and success, particularly in leading the company through its acquisition by Presidio.”

The leadership transition comes a month after the business was acquired by US-based technology services and solutions provider Presidio. A definitive agreement was signed at the end of October 2025 between Presidio and Ergo, and the purchase was reported to be completed in January 2026.

Ergo depth

Ergo’s expertise spans cloud, security, data & AI, licensing, and IT resourcing. It holds top-tier accreditations with leading vendors, including Microsoft, Broadcom, and Dell, and is recognised globally as an Azure Expert Managed Services Partner. Ergo was named Microsoft Partner of the Year in Ireland in 2025.

In August 2025, Ergo appointed Sean McAvinue as Head of AI for the company.

O’Donnell is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
